Thruxton Action Group!
TVBC have been involved in talks with the Connor family since at least July 2007 to change the use of land at Thruxton Down from agriculture to site a showman’s quarters of mobile homes, caravans and sheds, storage and maintenance areas, access road parking and turning and the installation of 2 septic tanks.
TVBC have already said “although the site is not ideally located for access to local facilities due to its rural location, it is considered acceptable in this case” The site is countryside. There are no facilities, no bus route, no school, no shops. The site is a paddock. If this goes ahead no land is safe not the field next to you or the one opposite.
Thruxton Down Action Group’s objections.
- The site for the development had been described as a Camp Site although the piece of land was not and had never been a camp site.
- The proposal contravenes the TVBC Plan.
- It would set a precedent.
- Traffic would be a problem.
- The site is an open field adjacent to an area of outstanding natural beauty
- There are no shops, schools, health services or bus service.
- The application is for change of use from agricultural to travelling showman‘s quarters.
- The redundant Weyhill Services site would be more appropriate for such a development.
